Ingredients
- ½ pkg Furlani® Garlic Bread (284 g)
- Hidden Veggie Sauce
- 1 400 ml/14-oz can whole peeled tomatoes
- ½ yellow pepper, diced
- ½ cup frozen spinach, defrosted
- 1 cloves garlic, finely grated
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp kosher salt or ½ tsp sea salt
- ¼ tsp dried oregano
- 1 ½-2 oz/30-55 g fresh mozzarella, sliced or cut
- into ½-inch cubes or 1 cup grated mozzarella
- cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan or Grana
- Padano cheese
- 1 tbsp honey
Instructions
- 1
Unwrap the Furlani® Garlic Bread. Using 1 side of the loaf, place the half on a baking sheet cut-side up. Preheat oven to 375˚F.
- 2
Make the Hidden Veggie Sauce: Strain the tomatoes and reserve the juice. In a ricer, blender or food processor, purée the tomatoes, yellow pepper and defrosted frozen spinach until a coarse puree is formed. Place the pureed tomato mix in a measuring cup and add enough of the reserved juice from the can to make up 1½ cups (you may not need any of the juice). Discard the remaining juice.
- 3
Stir the garlic, olive oil, salt and oregano into the tomatoes.
- 4
Cover and let chill for at least 3 hours. You can store in the refrigerator for 3 days. You can also use it right away. NOTE: you only need ¼ cup of the Hidden Veggie Sauce for ½ pkg Furlani® Garlic Bread (284 g) pizza, you can freeze the rest.
- 5
Spread ½ cup of the Hidden Veggie Sauce over the cut sides of the Furlani® Garlic Bread.
- 6
Evenly top the bread with the mozzarella and Parmesan or Grana Padano cheese.
- 7
Drizzle the honey all over the pizza.
- 8
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden in places. Cut into desirable pieces. Serves 2-4.
