This decadent filling is luscious, nutty and addictive. If you make this big batch and don’t need it all, freeze it. It is a terrific filling for rugelach, babka or any rolled cookie.

Ingredients

  • 50 g/½ cup unsweetened cocoa (best
  • quality)
  • 100 g/½ cup dark brown sugar
  • 145 g/ 12 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • (not melted, just softened)
  • 4-6 g/1 tsp kosher salt
  • 200g/¾ cup chocolate spread, use
  • Nutella or any other chocolate spread
  • you like (I like the Lindt dark chocolate
  • hazelnut spread)
  • ½ cup tahini

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix all the ingredients together, EXCEPT the tahini, with a fork or wooden spoon. Mix until uniform.

  2. 2

Place a small dollop of tahini in the centre of a round of hamentashen dough. Then place a heaping teaspoon of filling on top of the tahini.

  3. 3

Shape the hamentashen. Add a little more filling into the open area of the hamentashen (for extra gooeyness).

  4. 4

Bake according to 1-2-3 easy, flaky, dairy-free hamentashen dough, Delicious Dish, or your favourite hamentashen dough recipe. Makes enough filling for at least 24 hamentashen.
