My Grandmother’s Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup/4½ ounces/130grams all purpose
- flour
- ½ tsp./3 grams fine grain sea salt or 1
- tsp. /3 grams kosher salt
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- ½ cup/2 ½ ounces/70 grams chopped
- nuts, optional
- 1 cup/210 grams/7½ ounces semi sweet
- chocolate chips
Instructions

Preheat oven to 325˚F convection or 350˚F regular. Arrange 2 equally spaced oven racks. Prepare 2 cookies sheets with parchment.

In a standing mixer, cream the butter and sugars well, about 3 minutes, scraping down the sides several times.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda.

Add the egg and vanilla, mix well, making sure to scrape down the sides and bottom of the mixer bowl.

Add the flour mixture to the butter/sugar/egg mixture. Mix well.
