Tahini “Peanut” Sauce - condiments and dressings recipe by Carolyn Cohen

This sauce is a staple for any Thai meal. It is amazing used as a dip for satays or fritters, but also fabulous along side the Pad Thai. What I love about it, is that it is nut free!

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup tahini or any nut butter
  • 2 tbsp. low sodium tamari
  • 2 tbsp. brown or coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 1-2 tsp. sweet Thai chili garlic sauce (see
  • photo) or use a pinch of chili flakes and a
  • squeeze of honey
  • About 1-2 tbsp. hot water to thin it out

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix everything together in a medium size bowl, serve! Makes about 1 cup

Tips & Storage

How to Store
Store in a glass jar or airtight container in the refrigerator. Most homemade condiments and dressings keep well for 1-2 weeks.
Serving Tip
Bring to room temperature before serving for the best flavor. Shake or stir well, as homemade dressings may separate.
Batch Cooking Tip
Make a double or triple batch — homemade condiments elevate any meal and are so much healthier than store-bought versions.
